True Resilience: A Conversation on Community, Empathy and Justice in Health
On June 6th PM ET, we partnered with the CUNY School of Public Health and author, Soraya Chemaly, for an inspiring conversation unpacking the myth of resilience in healthcare, and exploring how we can build true wellbeing and positive change through collective strength and community. Holding Healthcare Accountable
On July 15th, 2021, we tackled an issue that is at the heart of the discrimination and abuse that BIPOC, women and gender minorities experience in the healthcare environment: the lack of safe systems through which to report discrimination and harassment.
In this virtual event, experts in gender and race discrimination, advocates and colleagues discussed the urgent need for safe reporting structures, examined the essential elements of effective reporting systems, and explored how to advocate for processes that provide justice, safety and support for all.
Justice Now
On October 24th, 2019, we hosted a public event at the New York Academy of Medicine to raise awareness about the pervasive culture of discrimination in our healthcare institutions. We were joined by Dara Kass, a Founding Member of Times Up Healthcare, and Aja Newman, whose story was featured in the recent NYMag piece, "One Night at Mount Sinai". Over 200 women from across NYC attended. If you would like to attend future events, or be involved in ongoing action for equity in healthcare, contact us!
